CALMING SHOWER MELTS
Do you love all those beautiful bath bombs but your just really not a bath person?
You can make amazing shower melts that turns your shower into a healing, aromatherapy session as the calming essential oil vapours merge with the shower steam.
You can use these shower melts to address some issues you might be struggling with. Essential oils can help relieve tension, stress, improve circulation or if you just need a boost of energy in those morning showers. Here is some oil options you can use:
Sinus: Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Rosemary, RC, Thieves, Thyme
Headaches: Lavender, Rosemary, Peppermint, YL Haven, Raven, Basil
Calm: Lavender, Peace & Calming, YL Haven, Valor, Copaiba, Vetiver
Cleaning: Lemon, Lemongrass
Energising: Grapefruit, Lemongrass, Peppermint
Uplifting: Jasmin, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot
Calming Shower Melts
1 cup Cornstarch
2 tbsp Epsom salts
4 tbsp water plus extra
7-15 drops lavender essential oil
Mix together the lavender oil, cornstarch and Epsom salts then add the water. You will need to add extra water to form a thick paste, but do so gradually. Once you have a paste, pour into ice cube trays or moulds and freeze until set. As long as you didn’t use too much water, you may remove the melts from the moulds and store in an airtight container. To use, place a melt on your shower floor and enjoying the calming lavender aroma.
When using your shower melt (my melts we're very small so I used 3/4 per shower), place it towards the back or sides of the shower, not directly in the line of the water or it will fizz away too quickly. Let the shower water gently lap against the shower melt and breathe deeply as the essential oil aromas waft up.
